The Dancers Barefoot Bellydance is a lively troupe of dancers and all involved partake for their pleasure and personal development. Each dancer has created their own individual costumes which take inspiration from ancient Arabic paintings, Indian and tribal dance cultures. By adding impressive turban style head-dresses and combining jewellery and individual tribal make up, these create a strong, vibrant and very striking look. Barefoot Bellydance performs using a number of traditional props which include finger cymbals (zils), veils, baskets, sticks, candles and the tulwar (an eastern style sabre). The result is that no two shows are every the same. Tribal style enables women to dance together communicating in the dance to create strong and powerful performances which are constantly changing. The energy created through choreographed improvisation is something very special which is simply not experienced through solo performance.
