| Barefoot Bellydance Band consists of local musicians
from differing musical backgrounds including traditional English
folk music, folk rock and classical.
The band use traditional Eastern and Arabic
instruments including Egyptian Tablas, Reks, Duffs and Turkish and
African drums. To this traditional line up we have added a varying
array of other Eastern and European percussion instruments. By
introducing the clarinet, violin, shawm, mizwiz, cello, guitar,
didgeridoo and oriental keyboard to provide the melody, we
believe we have created our own unique and individual
sound.
When not performing their own individual dances, the
dancers support the main band on various percussion or other
instruments.
